Started in Durban on a straightforward complaint: good outdoor gear costs too much. Founder Dean launched with a 30L backpack and built out into drybags, drinkware and adventure kit, visiting suppliers twice a year to keep quality and sourcing honest. What began as a side hustle now ships internationally.
Objectives
Scale a small Meta presence into the brand's main sales channel without the return collapsing on the way up.
Our approach
Scaling spend is easy; scaling it while the return improves is the hard part. We grew the account against demand it had already proved rather than opening the targeting up and hoping volume would cover the waste.
The results
Revenue grew more than thirtyfold across fourteen months, and the return on ad spend improved 49% over the same window.
- Meta conversions up 3,377%, revenue up 3,246%.
- Return on ad spend up 49% — the account got more efficient as it got much larger.
- Cost per lead down 36% and click-through rate up 36%.
"Spend went up sharply. So did the return on it. Those two usually move in opposite directions."
